A mesmerizing dance video that wandered across my facebook feed this week:
Another tradition of Big Dance is the Dance montage. At about 3:30 am, we all take a quick break from dancing, turn all the lights off and watch a video about dancing! (try not to fall asleep or let your muscles seize up on you). For those of you not crazy enough to be there for it, here it is:
Can you spot yours truly again? That probably depends on whether you have the patience to sit through the video till almost the end.
This is also a shout out to the crazy people who helped me organize that. You know who you are. I’m glad somebody got video of it. Most of us were too busy dancing to bother getting video. 🙂
Just in case anyone missed it when it made it’s rounds on facebook, I’ve dug up the video of the Cross Step Waltz competition from the Viennese Ball this year. Check it out here:
Who knows why?
I don’t normally do self promotions, but this dance was really special to me, along with the preceding parts of the competition. I normally feel like a total klutz when i dance (which is a strange juxtaposition with my dance ego), but this dance felt smooth and flowing and graceful. I can actually even watch the video without cringing at myself very much.
I also danced in the rotary waltz competition, but if you weren’t there, you don’t get to see it because my partner and I didn’t make the finals. We had a great time seeing how long we could avoid the judges with continual pivots though!
